The Morava Valley in the Early Middle Ages

“Hic sunt leones” is a joint project of the University of Vienna (Institute of Prehistory and Historical Archaeology, Principal Investigator: Stefan Eichert) and the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra (Faculty of Arts – Department of Archaeology, Principal Investigator Mária Hajnalová) . It investigates the development of the border region between Austria and Slovakia – the lower Morava Valley – during the Early Middle Ages and aims at creating a homogenous state of the art research that scholars from both countries will benefit from.

It is funded by the OeAD (Austrian agency for international mobility and cooperation in education, science and research) and the Slovak Research and Development Agency (SRDA). The project started 1.1.2016 (Project numbers SK-AT-2015-0012)
